Purpose:
The purpose of HTTM Language Service is to enhance and provide adequate training to interpret in the school system to better serve the LEP students and their parents in interviews, conference, assessment test, I.E.P, Counseling and or DUE, process meetings; or in any other situation where there is a need for interpretation
Our Services:
Is a three day conference of six hour each day, where we will instruct potential Interpreters on:
Ø The Difference Modes of Interpretation.
Ø How to work with school psychologist and other related service.
Ø What to do during the briefing, and interpreting session.
Ø Modern term and forms of expression.
Ø Online Reference Sites (English /Spanish).
Ø Interpreting in Special Education Settings.
Ø Mock IEP .
Ø How to Interpret unfamiliar and difficult evaluation terms?
Ø Avoiding Special Education False Cognates and "Spanglish".
Ø Standards of Professional Conduct for Interpreters.
Ø I.E.P Vocabulary.
Ø State and Federal Laws Regarding Interpretation Service.
Each participant will also receive:
v A Special Education Glossary Book and a Certificate of Completion.
